Don’t let travel delays ruin your holidays

Today’s post is a sponsored post from Nick of holiday extras, a UK based travel company.

Traffic jams are the dread of holidaymakers the world over. And although they’re not ideal, there are definitely ways to make the best out of a bad situation.

There are the obvious answers – leave plenty of time to get to the airport so you can minimise the stress of traffic jams, pack a few travel games and magazines – that’ll keep you all entertained for a good hour.

Maybe even get the kids watching a DVD on one of those portable players.

However, even with a few carefully prepared distractions up your sleeves, I know it doesn’t really calm the nerves as you set off on the long and winding road to the airport.

My one piece of advice would be to cut the stressful journey out altogether. And no, I’m not referring to hiring a private jet from your garden! Simply make the trip towards the airport the day before your flight, and book into one of the many fantastic airport hotels available around the country. You can take all the time you need getting there, and at the end of the journey you can wind down in comfort and enjoy a relaxing evening of good food and a great night’s sleep.

There are hotels all over the country, from Stansted airport hotels to Birmingham airport hotels and many more. And if you’re looking to add an extra day onto your holiday with a day trip before you fly, the Heathrow Airport hotels and Gatwick hotels are always well situated to explore our fabulous capital city!
