I’ve been travelling more or less full time since 2009, when I went to Australia for a year and never really stopped. In that time I’ve bought, worn out and replaced most of the kinds of kit on this page at least once.
So when Amazon runs its second Prime sale of the year in October, I go through the travel deals to sort the real price drops from the long list of products that have picked up a “deal” badge and barely moved.
Prime Big Deal Days 2026 is on October 6 and 7. Most of the deals need a Prime membership, and there’s a free 30-day trial if you’re eligible. Below are the 19 travel deals I think are worth buying, grouped into luggage, headphones, power, packing and travel tech, plus a short list of the headline deals I’d skip or hold off on until Black Friday.
The prices on this page update automatically, so the number you see is live. Rather than quote a percentage off a list price, I’ve checked each deal against what the product has actually sold for on Amazon this year to see if it’s actually a deal or not.
“Lowest this year” means what it says. “Matches its lowest” means it has been this price once before in 2026. If the deal price is above where the product has already been, it’s in the skip list.
Camera and photography deals have their own page, so if that’s what you’re after, head to our Prime Day photography deals instead.
Some links below are affiliate links. If you buy through them I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, which helps keep the site going. I have only included deals I would point a friend towards.
If you only read one table, these are the five I’d buy first.
| Deal | Best for | Price | My call |
|---|---|---|---|
| Away The Carry-On | A hardside carry-on for US flying | Check price on Amazon | Lowest this year |
| Bose QuietComfort Headphones | Most flyers | Check price on Amazon | Lowest this year, no Prime needed, runs to October 11 |

The Event: Dates, Prime Membership and the Deals That Run Longer
Prime Big Deal Days 2026 is October 6 and 7. It starts at 12:01am Pacific time on October 6 and runs for 48 hours, with Amazon dropping new deals three times a day, at midnight, 8am and 1pm Pacific. Amazon describes it as 48 hours across the two days and doesn’t give a closing time, so treat the end of October 7 Pacific as the cut-off and don’t leave anything you want until the last hour.
You need a Prime membership for the event deals. If you’re not a member, the 30-day free trial is open to anyone who’s eligible (past trial users may not be), and you can cancel before it renews.
There are two exceptions. The two Bose deals below are open to everyone and run to October 11, and the two packing cube deals are each a short window within the event, one on each day.
Deals come and go during the event, and availability moves faster than price. If something here is in stock at the deal price and you know you want it, buy it.
How I Picked These Deals
Every product here comes from one of our existing gear guides, where it was picked on its merits before anyone put a badge on it, or it’s something Jess or I travel with ourselves. Where I own the thing, I say so. Where I don’t, the write-up is research against the airline and manufacturer figures rather than time on the road with it, and I say that too.
Each deal was then checked against the product’s Amazon price history for 2026. If it’s not at or matching its low for the year, it didn’t make the list, no matter how good the product. And because most of our readers fly internationally at least some of the time, the bags, chargers and power banks each get a line on how they handle a trip abroad, covering sizer fit, voltage and plugs, or watt-hours.
Luggage and Bag Deals
My own daypack is an Osprey Daylite, and Jess carries an Eagle Creek, so the Osprey picks come from use. I haven’t travelled with any of the suitcases, and for those I’ve checked the makers’ published dimensions against the airline limits instead. If you want the full picture on bags, our guides to the best travel backpacks and the best travel daypacks go into far more detail.
Away The Carry-On
During October’s event the Away The Carry-On is at its lowest price this year, for Prime members. It’s a well-made, good-looking hardside bag with a 100-day return window from Away, which is a reasonable safety net for a suitcase you can’t try in a shop.
Away’s own exterior figure is 22 x 14.4 x 9.1 inches including the wheels and handles, which is a fraction over the 22 x 14 x 9 sizer that American and Delta publish. Away says it meets the requirements of most major airlines, and in practice a soft fraction of an inch pretty rarely gets measured.
But on a basic economy fare where they do put bags in the sizer, it isn’t inside the number on paper. For Lufthansa’s 55 x 40 x 23 cm limit the same applies.
Exterior: 22 x 14.4 x 9.1 in including wheels and handles (Away’s figure). Returns: 100 days.

Travelpro Platinum Elite International Carry-On
If you mostly fly with European or Asian airlines, the Travelpro Platinum Elite International Carry-On is the bag to look at instead of the Away. Travelpro builds the International specifically for airlines with shorter carry-on limits, so it’s shorter and shallower than a US-spec bag but wider. That puts it right at Lufthansa’s 55 x 40 x 23 cm limit and, at 15.75 inches wide, well over the 14-inch figure American and Delta use.
A poor pick if you fly American and Delta all year, a good one for transatlantic trips.
It’s softside and expandable, with a USB pass-through port and a TSA lock, and it’s at its lowest price this year for Prime members. Amazon lists this one as the 19-inch, which is the International; Travelpro’s 21-inch Platinum Elite is a different, US-sized bag.
Overall size: 21.75 x 15.75 x 7.75 in including wheels and handles (Travelpro’s figure). Case body: 19 x 15 x 7.75 in.

Samsonite Freeform Carry-On
The Samsonite Freeform Carry-On is the hardside carry-on that turns up on most deals lists, and this year the price is its lowest of 2026, for Prime members. It’s the budget end of the three carry-ons here, with a built-in TSA lock, and it’s the one I’d suggest to someone replacing a bag that’s died rather than upgrading one that works.
Check the listed dimensions against your own airline’s sizer before you buy. Listings for hardside cases love the phrase “airline approved”, and it means whatever the seller wants it to mean.

Samsonite Omni 2 Two-Piece Set
If you regularly check a bag, the Samsonite Omni 2 two-piece set, a carry-on plus a large checked case, is the cheapest it’s been this year, for Prime members. Sets are the sensible buy for family trips and long hauls where a checked bag is a given. If you travel carry-on only, buy a carry-on and skip the set.
It’s an Amazon-exclusive set, so there’s no direct-from-Samsonite price to compare it with. Stock was thin when I checked in the week before the event, so if it’s what you want, don’t sit on it.

Osprey Daylite Expandable Travel Pack
The Osprey Daylite Expandable Travel Pack is the travel version of the daypack I carry, with 26 litres that expand by another 6 when you unzip the main compartment. Unexpanded, Osprey’s figures are 17 x 13 x 6 inches (43 x 33 x 16 cm) and 1.85 lb, which is inside American’s 18 x 14 x 8 inch personal-item allowance on paper. Osprey says its personal-item dimensions are accepted by 85% of the biggest airlines, and that’s their figure, not mine.
Lufthansa is one of the exceptions. Its personal item is 40 x 30 x 15 cm, so on Lufthansa this bag counts as a carry-on. On a short-haul Economy Basic fare, which includes the personal item only, that means it isn’t covered by your allowance; on a long-haul Economy fare it goes in as the carry-on with room to spare. It’s at its lowest price this year for Prime members, and it’s the pick from this whole page I’d expect to still be using in five years.
Volume: 26 L, plus 6 L expanded. Size: 17 x 13 x 6 in (43 x 33 x 16 cm) unexpanded. Weight: 1.85 lb (0.84 kg). All Osprey’s figures.

Osprey Daylite Plus
The Osprey Daylite Plus is the simpler everyday version of the same bag, without the expanding compartment. It’s the one to pick as a walking-around day bag for cities and short hikes, not as an under-seat bag for the flight, and it matches its lowest price this year, for Prime members.
I use a Daylite as my own daypack, and it’s light and doesn’t really look like hiking gear in a city. If you don’t need the extra 6 litres for a flight, this is the cheaper way into the line.

Headphone Deals
Noise cancelling is the one piece of travel tech I’d tell anyone to buy before a long flight. I own the Sony WH-1000XM6, though I’ve mostly stopped flying with over-ear headphones because of the bulk, and use a pair of EarFun earbuds instead. The EarFuns are below, along with the previous-generation Sony XM5, the two Bose pairs and the Sennheiser I’d consider. The XM6 deal is on the skip list. Our best travel headphones guide has the full comparison, and our long-haul flight essentials covers the rest of the in-flight kit.
Sony WH-1000XM5
The Sony WH-1000XM5 are the previous generation of the pair I own, and they’re the Sony deal on this page I’d buy. They’re at their lowest price this year, the deal is open to everyone rather than just Prime members, and it runs to October 11. The deal price is on the Smoky Pink pair, so check the colour before you check out.
I haven’t travelled with the XM5 myself. My reason for leaving my own XM6 at home applies to these too, though: they’re bulky, and over-ear headphones take up quite a lot of a personal item. If you know you’ll wear them for the whole flight and a good part of the trip, they’re worth it at this price. If you suspect you’ll end up wearing earbuds, buy earbuds and save the money.

Bose QuietComfort Headphones
The standard Bose QuietComfort Headphones, the pair without “Ultra” in the name, are the ones I’d point most people at. The noise cancelling is a step behind the Ultra and the comfort isn’t, and on a nine-hour flight comfort is what you notice at hour six. Bose still sells this model directly, so it’s current rather than clearance.
This deal runs beyond the two-day event, to October 11, and you don’t need Prime for it. It’s the lowest price this year.

Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen)
The second-generation Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones were announced in September 2025 and they’re Bose’s best noise cancelling. Like the standard QuietComfort deal, this one runs to October 11 and doesn’t need Prime, and it’s at its lowest price this year.
The price gap between this and the standard QuietComfort is still pretty wide, though. Unless you fly a great deal, or you’re the sort of person who will hear the difference in the cancelling on a 787 and mind, the standard pair is the better use of the money.

Sennheiser Momentum 4
The Sennheiser Momentum 4 matches its lowest price this year, for Prime members, and it’s probably cheap because Sennheiser announced the Momentum 5 in May 2026. That’s no reason to avoid it. Sennheiser still sells the 4, and long battery life was always its strong suit.
It’s the pick for someone who cares more about how music sounds than about how completely the engine noise disappears. If cancelling strength matters most to you, the Sony or the Bose Ultra are the better buys.

EarFun Air Pro 4 (Owned, but Not on Sale)
The EarFun Air Pro 4 are the earbuds I actually fly with, and they’re not discounted in this event. They’re here because the white colour is wearing a deal badge at a price that’s higher than the black pair costs every day of the year. Buy the black ones at the normal price!
Of everything I checked for this page, it’s the clearest example of a badge that isn’t a deal. As earbuds go they’re really good for the money, the cancelling is enough for a plane, and they take up no room at all. EarFun has since released an Air Pro 4+, which I haven’t used.

Power and Charging Deals
Every charger in this group works on 100 to 240V, so it’s fine anywhere in the world with the right plug. The Anker and UGREEN chargers are picks from our best travel adapter guide, and I don’t own any of them. The power bank I travel with is the INIU P63, which isn’t in the event, so it stays in our best power banks for travel guide instead. The airline rules for batteries are at the bottom of the page.
Anker 100W GaN Universal Charger
The Anker 100W GaN Universal Charger is brand new, only just shipping as the sale opens, and it’s already at its lowest price, for Prime members. It’s model A140A, with three USB-C ports and one USB-A, 100W in total, and US, UK and EU plugs built into a slider so there’s nothing to lose in a hotel room. It takes 100 to 275V, which covers everywhere you can fly to.
There’s no AC socket, so it charges USB devices only, and there’s no Australian plug, so add a cheap adapter for that trip. For a laptop-plus-phone traveller who wants one charger for every country, this is the one I’d buy.
Ports: 3 x USB-C, 1 x USB-A, 100W total. Input: 100 to 275V. Plugs: US, UK and EU built in; no AU; no AC outlet.

UGREEN Nexode 100W 4-Port Charger
The UGREEN Nexode 100W 4-Port Charger is for the traveller who wants to keep a laptop charging with three other things plugged in at the same time. It’s model CD226, with four ports and 100 to 240V input, and it’s the laptop-plus-everything pick in our adapter guide. It’s also at its lowest this year for Prime members.
It’s a wall charger, not a travel adapter, so abroad you pair it with a plug adapter. And as with every multi-port charger, the 100W is the total, not what each port gets once the others are busy, so expect the laptop to charge a bit slower when the phone joins in.
Ports: 4, 100W total. Input: 100 to 240V. Model: CD226.

UGREEN 65W USB-C Travel Adapter
The UGREEN 65W USB-C Travel Adapter is the one I’d pick for a phone-and-tablet traveller who also wants to charge a light laptop. It’s 65W across two USB-C ports and one USB-A, it takes 100 to 240V, and it ships with swappable US, UK and EU plug heads, including the three-pin UK Type G that a lot of “universal” chargers skip. No Australian head. Lowest this year for Prime members.
Ports: 2 x USB-C, 1 x USB-A, 65W total. Input: 100 to 240V. Plugs: swappable US, UK (Type G) and EU heads; no AU.
Anker Nano Travel Adapter
The cheapest thing in this group, and the only one with an AC socket, is the Anker Nano Travel Adapter. It’s model A9215, with 20W over USB, plug coverage for the US, EU, UK and Australia, and a single two-pin AC outlet. It matches its lowest price this year, for Prime members.
The outlet takes two-pin plugs only, so no grounded laptop bricks, UK three-pin or Schuko plugs. And it’s an adapter, not a voltage converter, so a US-only hair dryer will still die in a 230V country. Amazon flags the 100W Anker above as its newer model, so I’d buy this for a phone-only trip and not much more.
USB: 20W max. Plugs: Type A (US), C (EU), G (UK), I (AU). AC outlet: 1, two-pin only, not a converter.

Anker MagGo 2 Pro Power Bank
The Anker MagGo 2 Pro is a 10,000mAh magnetic power bank that charges Qi2 phones wirelessly at up to 25W. We’re a Samsung household with no MagSafe in it, and I still prefer a big wired bank for a travel day, but if you’re on an iPhone this is the power bank in the sale worth having, and it’s at its lowest price this year for Prime members.
For flying, 10,000mAh works out at around 36 to 37 Wh by my arithmetic (Anker states the capacity in mAh), which is well under the 100 Wh airline limit. It’s model A110R, which doesn’t appear in Anker’s or CPSC’s recall listings as of late September 2026. The recalls, and which models they did cover, are in the airline rules section below.
Capacity: 10,000mAh (around 36 to 37 Wh, my calculation). Wireless: Qi2, up to 25W. Model: A110R.

Packing Cube Deals
Packing cubes are the cheapest upgrade on this page, and both sets here are compression cubes. That means they have a second zip that squashes everything flat. They’re the right kind if you pack bulky layers; for a summer trip the plain kind is plenty. Our best packing cubes guide compares both types.
Each deal is only live for part of one day, Gonex on the 6th and Bagsmart on the 7th, so if the price you see isn’t the deal price, come back a bit later in the day.
Gonex Compression Packing Cubes
The Gonex Compression Packing Cubes are the compression set from our packing cubes guide, at their lowest price this year during a window of a few hours on October 6, for Prime members. They’re mesh-topped, so you can see what’s in each one when you’re looking for socks in a dark hotel room.
Bagsmart Compression Packing Cubes 6-Set
The Bagsmart Compression Packing Cubes 6-Set is a six-piece compression set at its lowest price this year, during a window on October 7 for Prime members. Six cubes is quite a lot of cubes; it’s the right set for a family or a long trip with a checked bag. Buy the Gonex on day one or these on day two. You don’t need both.
Travel Tech Deals
Two travel routers from TP-Link, both at their lowest price this year for Prime members. Neither has a built-in battery, which keeps them small and means one less battery in your carry-on. They run off USB-C, from a power bank or a wall charger. One plugged into the hotel’s Ethernet socket or joined to its Wi-Fi gives every device you own a single network you control, with one login instead of five.
Jess has a full travel router guide over on Independent Travel Cats if you want the comparison. If you’re shopping for someone else, our tech gifts for travellers list is the other place to look this week.
TP-Link Roam 7 Travel Router
The TP-Link Roam 7 is model TL-WR3602BE, a Wi-Fi 7 router with a 2.5G port and USB 3.0, powered from a 5V/3A USB-C power bank or its own adapter. It’s a bit overkill for most hotel Wi-Fi, which will be the bottleneck long before the router is, but it’s the one to buy if you want it to outlast several phone upgrades.
Model: TL-WR3602BE. Power: USB-C, 5V/3A power bank or adapter; no built-in battery.
TP-Link Roam 6 AX3000 Travel Router
Of the two, the TP-Link Roam 6 AX3000 is the one I’d buy. It’s model TL-WR3012X, a Wi-Fi 6 router powered from a USB-C PD power bank at 5V, 9V or 12V. Hotel internet won’t get anywhere near what either router can pass through, so the cheaper one loses you nothing.
Check the model number in the listing before you pay. Amazon carries a second Roam 6 under a near-identical title with a different model number, and the deal is on this one.
Model: TL-WR3012X. Power: USB-C PD, 5V/9V/12V power bank; no built-in battery.

What to Skip or Wait On
A deal badge is not the same as a deal. These are the headline travel products getting attention this week that I’d leave alone, at least until Black Friday.
- The Apple AirPods Pro 3 picked up a deal badge on October 4 and the deal is open to everyone, but the price is above where they’ve already sold for in 2026. They’ll be on every Black Friday list. Wait. Check price on Amazon
- The Anker Laptop Power Bank 25,000mAh (model A1695, with built-in cables) is a good bank, and Anker calls it flight-approved. By my arithmetic 25,000mAh is around 90 to 92 Wh, so it’s under the 100 Wh line. But the event price is above its 2026 low. Wait. Check price on Amazon
- The Sony WH-1000XM6 deal I found was from a third-party seller with a one-per-order limit, not Amazon itself. I own these and they’re superb, but buy them from Sony or Amazon direct rather than chase that listing.
- The white EarFun Air Pro 4 “deal” costs more than the black pair does with no badge at all. Covered above; buy the black ones.
- Kindles. Amazon usually discounts its own devices during these events, but Kindles fell outside the price data I had before the sale, so I can’t tell you whether this year’s number is a real low. Our e-reader for travel guide says which model to want; check the price against its history before you bite.
- AirTags and AirPods Max. Neither was on the travel deal lists I had before the event. We’re an Android household, so I’ve never used an AirTag on a trip anyway; our luggage tracker guide covers both camps.
Before You Buy: Airline Rules for Power Banks and Carry-Ons
There are important rules for travel with power banks and carry-ons that you should be aware of before you buy or fly.
For batteries, the FAA’s limit is 100 watt-hours per battery. You can fly with a capacity of between 101 and 160 Wh but you need the airline’s approval to do so and can carry at most two spares. The FAA’s allowance stops at 160 Wh.
Power banks are rated in mAh, so to get watt-hours multiply the mAh by the cell voltage (typically 3.6 to 3.7V) and divide by 1,000. A 10,000mAh bank is around 36 to 37 Wh; a 25,000mAh one is around 90 to 92 Wh, which is why 25,000mAh is where most travel power banks stop. The FAA also warns that many airlines set stricter limits on how many banks you can carry, whatever the watt-hours.
They go in the cabin, never the hold. The TSA prohibits spare lithium batteries and power banks in checked luggage, and if your carry-on gets gate-checked, the FAA says the power bank comes out of it first.
In-flight use is the newer restriction. From January 15, 2026, Lufthansa Group airlines allow no use or charging of power banks on board and a maximum of two per passenger, and a growing number of other airlines have similar rules, so check yours before you plan to charge a laptop from a bank at 35,000 feet.
On recalls, since it’s the question people ask about Anker, there were two Anker power bank recalls in 2025. CPSC recall 25-338 covered the PowerCore 10000, model A1263 only, and only units with qualifying serial numbers, and recall 25-466 covered models A1647, A1652, A1257, A1681 and A1689, about 481,000 units. There was also an INIU recall, 26-135, covering the 10,000mAh model BI-B41 with four specific serial prefixes.
None of the power banks on this page (A110R, A1695 and my own INIU P63-E1) appear in those listings as of late September 2026. The model number on the label is what counts, not the marketing name, so if you own an older bank from either brand, check it against the CPSC notice.
For bags, American and Delta both publish 22 x 14 x 9 inches including wheels and handles for a carry-on, and Delta adds a 45 linear inch total. Lufthansa’s carry-on is 55 x 40 x 23 cm and 8 kg, with a personal item of 40 x 30 x 15 cm, and on its short-haul Economy Basic fares you get the personal item only.
The Away and the Travelpro are checked against those numbers in their write-ups. Gate agents don’t put every bag in the sizer, of course, but a bag that’s inside the number on paper never has to argue its case.
Prime Day Travel Deals FAQ
When is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026?
Prime Big Deal Days 2026 runs on October 6 and 7. It starts at 12:01am Pacific time on October 6 and runs for 48 hours, with new deals dropping at midnight, 8am and 1pm Pacific each day.
Amazon describes it as 48 hours and doesn’t give a closing time, so assume it finishes at the end of October 7 Pacific time and don’t leave anything you want until the last hour.
Do I need Amazon Prime to get the travel deals?
For the event deals, yes. Amazon describes them as Prime member-exclusive, and that covers almost everything on this page. If you’re not a member, the 30-day free trial is open to anyone who’s eligible, and you can cancel before it renews.
A few deals run alongside the event and are open to everyone. This year the two Bose headphone deals are the ones to know about, and they run to October 11.
Is Prime Day a good time to buy luggage?
For specific bags, yes. The Away Carry-On, the Travelpro International and both Samsonite cases above are at their lowest Amazon prices of 2026 during the event, and luggage discounts of that size don’t come around every month.
Ignore the size of the percentage on the badge. Check whether the price is low against what the bag has sold for over the year, then check the bag’s dimensions against your own airline’s sizer before you buy, because “airline approved” on a listing means nothing.
Should I wait for Black Friday instead?
For everything marked “lowest this year” on this page, the price is already at its 2026 low, and Black Friday only sometimes beats an October low on the same item. If you need the thing for a trip before December, buy it now.
For the items in the skip list, the AirPods Pro 3 and the Anker 25,000mAh bank, the October price isn’t a low, and those are the ones I’d hold for Black Friday. This page gets updated for each sale, so you’ll be able to see which way it went.
Can I take a power bank on a plane?
Yes, in your carry-on, never in a checked bag. The FAA allows lithium batteries up to 100 Wh per battery without airline approval, and 101 to 160 Wh with approval, up to two spares.
Watt-hours are mAh times cell voltage (about 3.7V) divided by 1,000, so a 10,000mAh bank is around 37 Wh and a 25,000mAh bank around 92 Wh. A growing number of airlines, including the Lufthansa Group since January 2026, don’t allow you to use or charge a power bank during the flight, so check your airline’s rule before you rely on one.
